Disney is freaking me out.

"Disney’s $7.4 billion purchase of Pixar Animation Studios could strengthen the ties between another company headed by Steve Jobs... ...Steve Jobs is now Disney’s biggest shareholder."

Huh? Steve Jobs is freaking me out. He's gonna be bigger than Jesus.

Today's Song of the Day is "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones off their 1969 album "Let It Bleed."

Crazy fact: They are still performing and by all reports still good. That's crazy.

Last year, there was mourning among animation aficionados as Disney announced that they were getting out of the classic animation business. (yes, classic animation, as in old school 2-d painted-cel animation) They no longer employ any classic animators - all Disney animation from here on out will be straight CG. Truly the end of an era.

Interesting to note at the end of this news story that Pixar and Disney were at the end of a contract...

Quickly, because I have to sleep, it looks like 2D is making a comeback. I'm PMing a 2D show in Hannover right now, using a program called Celaction, which is a pretty hot deal, could do for 2D what Digital Video did for Stop-mo. Anyway, it's seems to have caused 4 series' to start in the UK, and we're trying it out here, isn't that nuts? The 2D look is just cool... sometimes... and it's already separated into layers, so all the comping isn't so nasty as with the shooting, no dirty dolls and so on... still, I miss the stop-mo sometimes, I just like the idea of being able to put my hand on the stuff, everything on Hard Drive is freaking me out!
